“For decades, SM Supermalls has become a second home and a witness to the special milestones close to every loving grandparent’s heart. SM’s story won’t be complete without our Lolos and Lolas‘ own SM moments.”
This was how SM Supermalls senior vice president for marketing Jonjon San Agustin encapsulated the special bond that SM has with grandparent shoppers.
In celebration of the international Grandparents’ Day on September 9, SM malls nationwide will offer “grand” treats among them shopping discounts, dining promos, and various grand entertainment activities.
This weekend can be extra special with the whole family gathering at a favorite SM mall to enjoy everything that grandparents love to do in the mall – starting with the morning Holy Mass, to a hearty lunch with the special Grandparents’ Day dining promos, to bazaar hopping, and capturing family moments on camera!
SM shoppers can get a chance to win P5,000 in SM gift certificates by simply taking a photo with grandparents through their Augmented Reality Family Booth in the malls and the Website Photo App that all smartphone users can enjoy by logging in to www.smsupermalls.com.
More #AweSM treats for grannies and the whole fam
SM’s “grand” treats will continue on September 21 to 23 as #AweSM Dining Deals let families indulge in treats from participating restaurants that will offer “60-themed deals” like pay only 60%, less P60, or pay only P60!
SM Supermalls also invited seasoned actors and well-loved celebrity grandparents, Eddie Gutierrez and Dina Bonnevie during its Grandparents’ Day media launch as part of its ongoing tribute to grandparents.
The two actors shared how they bond with their grandkids and what activities they usually do when visiting SM.
“My grandchildren enjoy going to SM. We spend time there shopping and we go to the food court. The food is good! We really enjoy ourselves,” revealed Gutierrez who has seven grandkids.
Bonnevie, on the other hand, reveals that her apos usually ask her to go with them to Toy Kingdom. “SM provides everything to you. You have movie houses there, good restaurants where you can eat, and of course, the stores. If you want to buy toys, clothes, shoes, bags, anything—it’s all there!” she added.
Gutierrez also admitted that his grandkids have given him a new lease on life. “I have been blessed to have grandchildren who are healthy. They are our future, growing up to be good children of our community. I can also see that they are God-fearing… I’m now 76 and I’m enjoying my second childhood. Para akong bata lang when I’m with them.”
Spending time with grandparents is really beneficial not only to them, but for the entire family. Lolo and lola help parents raise kids with love, patience, and understanding. So it’s time to give back by treating them this weekend to an unforgettable Grandparents’ Day.
