Friday was a good day for residents of San Jose Del Monte and nearby towns in Bulacan as 1,161 people benefited from the free medical and dental mission conducted by SM Foundation Incorporated.
Dubbed as Gamot Para Sa Kapwa, the mall event gave beneficiaries the chance to avail of various services. These include medical checkups, dental extractions, vital signs monitoring, blood pressure checkups, and basic laboratory exams for blood cholesterol, sugar, and urine.
The SM Foundation Mobile Clinic also provided free X-ray and electrocardiogram tests while thousands of medicines, health supplements, and ointments were distributed to patients.
The medical mission is the socio-civic arm of the SM Group of Companies that aims to provide ancillary services to communities that have limited access to medical services. It also seeks to provide dental benefits to economically disadvantaged patients within the immediate vicinity.
For those who missed the event, they can still visit other malls this month. The next medical missions will be held in Naga on April 11, Legaspi on April 12, Lemery on April 17, Pampanga on April 20, Pangasinan on April 21, Cabanatuan on April 25, and Tarlac on April 26.
