Good news for all our respectable war veterans! The monthly pension will now be increased from Php5,000 to Php20,000, under the newly signed Republic Act No. 11164  by President Rodrigo Duterte.

The law states that war veterans who fought in the Second World War, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War will have their monthly pension increased to Php20,000, provided that they are not receiving pension from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Only living war veterans are entitled to the pension increase; meaning it is not transferrable to family members or dependents of veterans. To date there are around 6,000 living war veterans in the Philippines.

This new law will takes effect 15 days after publication in the Official Gazette or two newspapers.

Hopefully our veterans will benefit from this increase, as they have won honored us with their service to the country. Cheers to our war veterans!
