While Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco holds the top reins at San Miguel Corporation (SMC), much of the company’s business handlings are dealt by its president Ramon S. Ang, who turns 65 today.
Apart from being the president, Ang is SMC’s Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer (COO). And as the president & CEO of Top Frontier Investment Holdings, Inc., he is also SMC’s biggest shareholder – which he acquired from his friend Cojuangco.
He took up high school in the Philippine Cultural High School, and graduated from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1978.
The business tycoon is also a big sports fan, his company’s teams playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) for volleyball. With his leadership in SMC, Ang gives support to the Philippines whenever they compete in international tournaments such as the Olympics and SEA Games
Other positions that Ang currently holds are chairman of San Miguel Beverages, San Miguel Brewery, Eagle Cement Corporation, Purefoods-Hormel Company, president of Petron Corporation, and much more with affiliations with Del Monte Philippines, Inc. and Ginebra San Miguel, to name a few.
