Manila Bulletin Lifestyle editor AA Patawaran finally unveiled his new book, Manila Was A Long Time Ago, at the Manila House Private Members Club at BGC.
The book, by Anvil Publishing, is a collection of 16 short stories featuring Filipinos in various cities across the globe. It’s AA’s third book, and the second that features artworks by Love Marie Ongpauco-Escudero.
This wasn’t your ordinary book launch, though. Hosted by Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi, it had KC Concepcion reading an excerpt from one of the short stories in the book, while a pair tangoed to the tune of “Por Una Cabeza.” National Artist F. Sionil Jose also graced the event and he gave a short message afterwards.
The well-attended launch had VIP guests, among them were Czech Republic ambassador to the Philippines Jaroslav Olša Jr., the Manila Bulletin president Dr. Emilio Yap III, National Book Store managing director Xandra Ramos-Padilla, and Department of Justice undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay-Villar, among others.
Manila Was A Long Time Ago is available at select National Book Store and Powerbooks outlets.
